HERB &
TINA PREPARING MEALS FOR GUEST |
Herb and Tina Schwager have been "people
persons" all their lives. Entertaining, cooking and gardening
are their passion. While both have diverse careers in Health Care
(Tina is a Registered Nurse, Herb is a consultant in Pain and Behavioral
Medicine), they are now beginning the "good life" by pursuing
their dream with the evolution of Schwager Haus B&B.
Tina is a native of Fort Worth, Texas where she earned her Bachelor
of Science degree in Nursing. She has practiced 20 plus years
in the areas of General Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Neuro Rehabilitation,
Home Health and Hospice.

RUN KING SALMON
|
Herb, a native of St. Paul Minnesota,
began his career with degrees in Psychology and Physiology; graduate
education in Clinical Psychology and post-doctoral training in Behavioral
Medicine and Pain Medicine. With over 35 years of clinical experience,
Herb’s commitment has been to assisting patients suffering from
chronic pain and chronic illness adjustment.
They continue their commitment to Health Care in Alaska as well, where
Tina does surgical nursing and private duty nursing in the local communities
of Palmer/Wasilla and Willow. Herb maintains a 'hi-tech' telemedicine
practice linking Willow, Alaska with Payson, Arizona, as well as consults
for the Alaska Tele Health Council.
JENNIFER &
TINA WITH
SOME NICE SILVER SALMON |
Jennifer (Herb and Tina’s daughter)
began studying Psychology at Arizona State University. She transferred
her junior year to the University of Alaska Anchorage where she
graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Gerontology.
Jennifer just married Alex (Who helped Herb and Tina build Schwager
HAUS) on July 30, 2006. Jennifer truly loves people, the earth,
and life. She is Herb and Tina’s “right and left hands”,
assisting them in the operation of Schwager HAUS B&B.
Their dream is Schwager HAUS B&B;
bringing together their culinary talents, gardening, love of life,
the earth and people. It was only natural that in the second half
of their lives they embraced the Bed and Breakfast industry of Alaska.
They look forward to sharing their dream with each of their guests.

is gravel and all but closed to private vehicles. In
other words, Denali sees less traffic than many suburban
streets.
Back country hiking, bus tours, rafting, flight seeing,
horseback riding and more awaits you at Denali National
